About the Directory
We connect elderly and disabled residents across the UK with DFG-experienced home adaptation installers, making it easier to find trusted local support.
Why Coastal Towns?
Many UK towns have high concentrations of elderly residents in the country. Towns like Christchurch (32% over 65), Clacton-on-Sea (31%), and Bexhill-on-Sea (31%) have ageing populations that are significantly above the national average. These communities have the greatest need for home adaptations — yet they're often underserved by mainstream directories.
Our directory focuses exclusively on these 84 towns across every UK region, ensuring that DFG-experienced installers, Home Improvement Agencies, and national companies are visible where they're needed most.
Our Data Sources
We compile installer listings from official and verified sources including local council DFG pages, the FindMyHIA.org.uk Home Improvement Agency registry, manufacturer approved installer directories (Stannah, Handicare, Acorn), and ONS Mid-Year Population Estimates for demographic data.
Built by Anthony Johnson
I built the DFG Home Adaptations Directory after seeing how difficult it was for elderly relatives across the UK to find trusted, DFG-experienced installers. The information is fragmented across council websites, HIA directories, and manufacturer pages — with no single place to compare options.
This directory brings that information together, making it free and easy for residents (and their families) to find approved installers, check grant eligibility, and get quotes. If you have feedback or suggestions, I'd love to hear from you at hello@saferathome.co.uk.
